The Governor's Reorganization Plan No.2 merges the Department of Boating and Waterways into the Department of Parks and Recreation effective July 1, 2013.

The Department of Boating and Waterways funds, plans, and develops motorized and nonmotorized boating facilities on waterways throughout California and ensures safe boating for the public by providing financial aid and training to local law enforcement agencies. More.....
