Mission Statement

Effective July 1, 2013, pursuant to the Governor's Reorganization Plan No. 2 of 2012, the 2013-14 information for the California Film Commission, Office of Tourism, Infrastructure and Economic Development Bank, and the Small Business Loan Guarantee Program is merging with this Department. 2011-12 and 2012-13 budget information for these programs are displayed under the Secretary for Business, Transportation, and Housing (Organization Code 0520). The Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) provides a single point of contact for economic development, business assistance and job creation efforts. The GO-Biz works with companies and organizations across the nation to market the benefits of doing business in California, recruit new businesses, retain businesses, and support private sector job growth. The GO-Biz serves as the Governor's lead entity for economic strategy and the marketing of California on issues relating to business development, private sector investment, economic growth, export promotion, permit assistance, innovation and entrepreneurship.
