The California Tahoe Conservancy's mission is to protect and sustain the unique natural resources and recreational opportunities in the Lake Tahoe Basin. The Conservancy achieves its mission by developing and implementing programs that acquire environmentally sensitive land, provide grants or directly fund soil erosion prevention and watershed restoration, improve stream environments and wildlife habitats, and improve water quality. MAJOR PROGRAM CHANGES Back to Top
  • Implementation of the Environmental Improvement Program (EIP) - The Budget provides $23.5 million from various funds for support and local assistance to continue the state's efforts to support the EIP for the Lake Tahoe Basin.

  • Fuels Reduction - The Budget provides $716,000 Proposition 84 funds for equipment to support the Conservancy's existing ReGreen Program.
