3900 Air Resources Board

The Air Resources Board has primary responsibility for protecting air quality in California. This responsibility includes establishing ambient air quality standards for specific pollutants, administering air pollution research studies, evaluating standards adopted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and developing and implementing plans to attain and maintain these standards. These plans include emission limitations for vehicular and industrial sources established by the Board and local air pollution control districts. More.....

  • Heavy-Duty Vehicle Regulatory Implementation - The Budget includes $1.6 million Motor Vehicle Account and 4.8 positions to provide compliance assistance and outreach to businesses and individuals subject to new heavy-duty diesel-powered vehicle regulations aimed at reducing toxic air contaminant and criteria pollutant emissions to meet federal clean air standards.
