3500 Resources Recycling and Recovery

The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery protects public health and safety and the environment through the regulation of solid waste facilities, including landfills, and promotes recycling of a variety of materials, including beverage containers, electronic waste, waste tires, used oil and other materials.   • Implementation of SB 63 - The Budget reflects increases of $728 million in 2009-10 and $1.4 billion in 2010-11 for implementation of Chapter 21, Statutes 2009 (SB 63). The bill combines the Integrated Waste Management Board and the Department of Conservation's Division of Recycling to create the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery.
